Cathedral bells echoed throughout the Capital, shattering the fragile silence of the country in respect to the mass royal funeral. It was a tragedy no sane mind could foresee: the Archduke, his children and their consorts – the Dukes and Duchesses, were taken away from the Empire within a night when the whole continent was celebrating the Winter Solstice. All that was left behind were his grandchildren, who had nonexistent experience of governing a province, needless to say a country; bitter relationships with bordering nations from the late Archduke’s aggressive diplomacy during his reign; and last but not least, an ongoing war with their eastern neighbour whom they had had sour conflicts since the very beginning of the countries’ histories…
